In 1969, the 911’s displacement was increased to 2.2 liters, and the “E” version made its appearance. Positioned above the “T”, the 911 E now developed 155 horsepower thanks to fuel injection. It features an aluminum hood, stabilizer bars, four-wheel disc brakes and a new steering gearbox for improved handling and roadholding.
Also unique to the standard E model is the model designation inside & out in gold font.
Over the years, the Porsche 911 range has continued to evolve, with “T”, “E” and “S” variants depending on successive developments in displacement and technology.
The Porsche 911, with its air-cooled flat-six engine and 5-speed manual gearbox, contributes year after year to reinforcing the myth of the serious, functional and efficient sports car.
Our example was delivered new in Italy on September 2, 1970 in its Tangerine Orange color.
In 1970, 1034 examples of the 2.2 E left the Porsche factory in Stuttgart, and 1088 in 1971, for a total of 2122 units.Today’s example is number 90 of the 1971 series.
The old Italian registration certificate dates back to 2007. The vehicle passed through Germany before being imported into France in 2015 (second-hand purchase invoice).
Vehicle registered in France since July 16, 2015 by its current owner.
Document of conformity issued by Porsche in 2015 attesting to its matching engine number & exterior color.
The German garage that sold the vehicle to its current owner carried out work totalling 26,890 euros.
We have all the maintenance invoices only since it was imported into France, i.e. since 2015.
To stand out from the crowd and appreciate its use even more, the current owner decided to give it a sportier touch by adding the seats of its big sister the 911 S, a leather sports steering wheel and targeted lights that also give it a “Rally” Spirit.
For lovers of the sound of the legendary 6-cylinder flat engine, the vehicle is fitted with a stainless steel Scart exhaust system (installed in 2022).
Vehicle in good cosmetic condition with slight cosmetic defects.
