We have complete ownership history on the car. Of the 4 owners, the 2nd owner had the car for over 23-years (1991-2014). He was meticulous in maintaining the car to a very high level. In 2003, the car was hit while parked from behind which resulted in damage to the rear decklid. The decklid was replaced and the owner opted to pay out of pocket to refinish the entire car at this time. The respray was done to a high level and still looks very presentable. There are some miscellaneous rock chips/blemishes which we have highlighted in the photo gallery. The interior is in good condition overall. All gauges function as they should and gauge lighting has been upgraded to LED. The driver’s side door card is chewed up and the driver’s side seat bolster exhibits wear. Both could be touched up/re-dyed but I would personally love to see someone turn this car into a hotrod. It is begging for a set of Carbone/Achtungkraft door cards and Recaro seats!
The car is overall in excellent mechanical condition. An engine-out reseal was completed in May of 2023 which included timing case seals and cover gaskets, valve cover gaskets, crankshaft seal, oil cooler seals, etc. at a cost of over $7000. The 3.2 fires right up, cold or hot, and holds a confident idle. It does not smoke nor show signs of oil consumption. All gears engage with ease and the clutch grabs strongly with no slippage. The 915 transmission was replaced in 2013 (back when 915s were cheaper to buy than rebuild). Oil pressure is excellent and it maintains great oil temps, even on warm days. This car makes great power – watch the included driving video to see for yourself. The AC is not currently blowing cold but all components are in place. The stereo has been upgraded to a modern Continental headunit with Bluetooth functionality. The only other modifications we are aware of are upgraded Bilstein B6 shocks/struts and a bump-steer kit (the car sits at Euro height). The Fuchs have been restored and are in excellent condition. Exhaust is all stock including the original Catalytic converter.
Please feel free to inquire directly with any questions. The car is located inside our Statesville, NC facility and we have a clean/clear North Carolina title in hand. Original manuals, cover, additional floor mats, spare DME relay and 3″ thick folder of records included with the car.
