The service book is present, however the history on this car is light because the owner has had the car serviced in his workshop continuously. The counter in kms replaced the one in miles (which was kept and which we have) when the car was imported into the country. The car has therefore traveled 10,608 km (6,591 miles) + 40,741 km = 51,349 km. Expertise accompanies this 911 Speedster.
After decades of absence, Porsche finally unveiled a new Speedster at the 1987 Frankfurt Motor Show with a prototype based on the Porsche 911 G series leading to a production version in 1989. With a stripped interior, a windshield lowered by 8 mm and more inclined by 5°, a simplified and manual soft top, and above all a magnificent double-bossed shell which takes place behind the front seats, this 911 Speedster is recognizable at first glance. Under the hood, the 3.2L Flat 6 develops 217 hp, allowing the Speedster to reach 60 mph in less than 6 seconds for a maximum speed set at 152 mph.
Ultimately, 2,274 examples were produced, 171 in the normal version and 2,103 in the Turbo Look version. The latter configuration was the only one available in Germany and the United States, the car’s two main markets. The Turbo Look uses the running gear, including the brakes but except the torsion and anti-roll bars, as well as the bodywork of the 911 Turbo, stripped of the imposing spoiler for a better design.
