This 911 Carrera is finished in attractive Silver Metallic paint and is consigned by its original owner. Purchased new in Tennessee, this car has been preserved and maintained in original condition. The car was desirably optioned with a sunroof, power seats, air conditioning, power windows, and a rear window wiper. As an unrestored example, the consignor reports it still wears its original paint with stock interior. In preparation for sale, the car was serviced at GMP South Atlanta for a total of $4,507.
During this service, the air conditioning system was serviced, a new drive belt and fresh Continental tires were fitted, the engine oil was changed, and a new shifter bushing kit was installed, among other repairs. Today this 911 Carrera displays just over 52,000 miles at the time of cataloging and is eager to join only its second owner since new.
Nineteen eighty-nine would not only mark the 25th anniversary of 911, but it would also be the final year of the 3.2 Carrera. To mark the occasion, Porsche created a special 25th Anniversary Edition model, with only 300 coupes and 200 convertibles being produced. The cars were finished in either Satin Black Metallic or Silver Metallic, with all receiving a Silk Grey leather interior with contrasting black piping and Silk Grey velour carpeting. The stitched leather center console housed an outside temperature sensor, CD or cassette holder, as well as the short shift gear lever. All of these special edition cars were powered by the venerable 3.2-liter flat-six with Bosch Motronic fuel injection generating 217-horsepower, which sends power to the rear wheels through the G50 five-speed manual transmission. The final touches for these cars were body-colored, staggered 16-inch Fuchs wheels and bronze ’25th Anniversary Special Edition‘ badges.
