1989 Porsche Carrera 3.2 Cabriolet
In the mid to late 1970s, the legendary Porsche 911 faced uncertainty as Porsche considered replacing it with the V8-powered 928. Despite its accolades, the 928 struggled to generate excitement. Then came Peter Schutz, the visionary CEO who recognized the 911’s appeal and championed the 911 SC from 1978 to 1983. Porsche engineers revitalized the model, leading to the debut of the 911 Carrera 3.2 in 1984. This model featured an 80% reimagined 3.2-liter flat-six engine with 231 horsepower, making it the most commercially successful 911 ever.
This stunning convertible 3.2 Carrera is one of the very last and finest examples of the G-series, with only 2,787 units produced between August 1988 and July 1989. First registered on March 28, 1990, it radiates elegance in its striking Guards Red finish, complemented by a black leather interior. With a beautiful black fabric top and original Fuchs alloy wheels, this Porsche truly embodies timeless style. Its G50 manual gearbox, celebrated for its robustness, captured the hearts of its first owner and set the stage for exhilarating drives. After two decades of careful stewardship, this gem found a new home with Evy on December 7, 2020. A devoted Porsche enthusiast from Brugge, Evy immediately embarked on an extensive service in May 2021, replacing all the rubbers enabling countless future adventures to come! Evy also installed a period-correct Blaupunkt Bremen radio with DAB functionality, perfectly reflecting her love for road trips and the open road!
