Das Fahrzeug im Detail

Chassis No. 9115600482
Engine No. 6650651

Throughout its history, Porsche has consistently demonstrated an exceptional ability to adapt to changing market demands, governmental regulations, and client preferences, resulting in some of the most coveted and gratifying sports cars ever conceived. The 1974 and 1975 Porsche 911 Carrera with two different kinds of Bosch fuel-injection exemplify this adaptability, representing two significant changes for the evergreen 911.

In response to North American emissions requirements, Porsche implemented two parallel engineering solutions for 1974. For the U.S. market, Porsche developed a tamer variant utilizing the Bosch K-Jetronic Continuous Injection System (CIS), paired with an enlarged 2.7-liter displacement. Rest-of-World (RoW) specification Carreras retained the Type 911/83 mechanical fuel injection (MFI) system, carrying forward the highly regarded RS 2.7-liter powertrain. This RoW variant, commonly referenced as the „Euro Carrera“ in North American circles, maintained a closer technical lineage to the revered 1973 Carrera RS. Simultaneously, to meet federal impact requirements, the marque introduced a set of bumpers with hydraulic shock absorbers—a design challenge that Porsche met with characteristic tact, earning widespread acclaim from enthusiasts for their seamless integration.

Bridging the gap between the classic long-hood cars and the 911 SC, this particular RoW 1975 Porsche 911 MFI Coupe is presented in classic Grand Prix White with black “Carrera” side scripts. The interior boasts black leatherette-upholstered seats with period-correct tweed fabric seat inserts complemented by a sunroof. According to its Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, the car was originally finished in Light Yellow with equipment for Switzerland and reportedly remained there until it was imported to the United States in 2013. The car was additionally equipped when new with option group R09, Koni shock absorbers, „S“ specification brakes, under-bumper white fog lights, black Carrera door script, antenna with loudspeaker and noise suppression, black roofliner, rear spoiler, five-speed transmission, and Dunlop tires. Furthermore, the car notably retains its original, matching-numbers fuel-injected 2.7-liter engine corresponding with its CoA. The engine is said to have undergone a comprehensive rebuild along with its 019 MFI pump and RS stacks and throttle bodies circa 2015 under previous ownership. Invoices on file show further sorting took place in 2016 at Swiss Motors, including the replacement of the thermostat and oil lines, a new battery, and fluids change.

One of just 509 RoW Coupes built for 1975, this exceptional example with its matching-numbers 210-horsepower fuel-injected engine presents a compelling opportunity to acquire a well-maintained example of Porsche’s air-cooled legacy.
