The first year of the “G” series body, 1974 was a major turning point in 911 development. A strengthened chassis, impact bumpers and the new “short hood” look combined with the RS’ flared fenders, wider wheels and iconic ducktail gave the Carrera a more athletic personality without detracting from the car’s famous profile. With the exception of the emissions strict US market, the ROW (rest of world) 2.7 Carrera was fitted with Porsche’s last mechanical fuel injection engine from the 1973 RS; a 2.7 Flat 6-cylinder with 210bhp. With this race proven engine in the new G body 911 form, the Carrera could achieve 0-60mph in 5.5 seconds.
This Carrera 2.7 MFI is shown in its very rare factory original color of Magenta. After restoration, it was owned by a prominent Porsche collector in Long Island, NY, always exceptionally well cared for and well-serviced.
