This particular SC was ordered new by the well-known Paris Porsche dealer SONAUTO and delivered on the 1st of October 1963, notwithstanding being a 1964 model!
The last owner purchased it in 1989 and started a complete restoration in 2010 (in Belgium) which was completed in 2017.
Judging its pictures one can see this concerns a restoration of the highest standards, with invoices over 130.000 Euros which all can be looked into in its personal folder, including a complete set of documents of its history as well. No need to say it is a joy to drive and has only driven a few thousands km’s after restoration, so it still remains in new condition.
As a bonus, the car also comes with the original hardtop equally restored to factory specs.
The engine is a period correct, air-cooled 1600cc flat-four SC-engine.The number only differs a couple of digits with the original matching one. You’ll be pleased to know it had a complete overhaul and puts out its healthy 95bhp just as it came from the factory!
Original colour is the non-metallic ‘Slate Gray’ (code 6401) or ‘Schiefergrau’ and the previous owner has chosen to restore this attractive colour together with the Ruby Red interior which makes for a very sought-after combination!
Interesting fact: Slate Grey was Steve McQueen’s favorite color. The 911S seen at the beginning of the film „Le Mans“ was painted Slate Grey, and his very early Turbo Carrera was painted Slate Grey to sample.
Truly an opportunity not to be missed for someone who is ready to claim the 356 ownership.
And as the well-known saying goes: “The proof of the pudding is in the eating” so this lovely 356 SC is waiting for you to take her out for a ride!
