Porsche 356 manufactured on March 5, 1964.
The car was sold new at the official “VW Distributors”, a dealership in Dublin (Ohio-USA). Originally the car left the factory in Signal Red (code 6407B) with black synthetic leather interior. Knowing that it left the factory in March 1964, it means that we are looking at one of the last 356 manufactured, before the appearance in the second half of the year, of the 911.
In recent years, the car was part of “The King Collection”, owned by Richard Q. King, whom Porsche 356 lovers will surely know very well. Richard had a workshop specialized in Porsche 356 with more than 40 years of history. He recently sold his entire collection of Porsche 356s, parts,… and there were many who tried to buy everything he put up for sale. At Julià 911 we saw this 356 and through a classic car specialist, we bought it to carry out this fantastic project.
When this 356 arrived at our workshop, we began a laborious restoration and customization work that we detail below:
– Full restoration of the bodywork.
– Premium paint with custom Beige color.
– Full restoration of the interior using natural leather.
– Recaro Sport type seats upholstered in leather and beige Pepita fabric.
– Wooden steering wheel type 356 Carrera.
– Heuer chronometer set.
– Removable and discreet JBL Bluetooth radio.
– Personalized body color extinguisher.
– Major engine overhaul (no oil leaks).
– Adjustment of the Dell’Orto carburetors.
– Review of the original gearbox.
– Total review of all chassis elements (brakes, suspensions…).
– Dual circuit brake system like the 911.
– Dunlop tires 195/65 15.
– 6” sheet metal wheels from the 911.
Since it was completed, this 356 has been the protagonist in recent months of several publications on renowned pages, such as TYPE7, where it appears in a beautiful photo session that also accompanies this announcement. (https://www.instagram.com/p/Cu5UnacISYw/?ref=Imgum.net&hl=es&img_index=6)
This 356 clearly stands out for its perfect balance between elegance and sportiness; and for its fantastic driving, clearly improved by the 4 disc brakes that were fitted for the first time on the 356 C as standard, and which undoubtedly greatly improve the sporty driving experience of the 356.
A copy of the factory Kárdex is delivered with the car, in which all the information about the car appears (production date, engine number, gearbox number, exterior and interior color, extras and dealership where it was first sold). .
