The 356 was the model that brought the Porsche name to greatness and thus was the basis of what the Porsche brand stands for today. After 17 years of extremely successful production, the last car of the 356 type, an SC convertible, left the assembly line in April 1965. Porsche modernized its 356 one last time in 1963 in the form of the 356C. this was the first commercial Porsche ever to receive standard brake discs on all wheels, a welcome improvement over the old drum brakes. A true driver’s car was born!
