The engine is directly derived from motorsport and is known for its impressive rev range and addictive sound. The 997.2 GT3 RS sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds and has a top speed of 310 km/h.

The 997.2 GT3 RS is designed with a focus on weight saving and handling. Compared to the standard 997 GT3, the RS has a wider rear axle, refined aerodynamics, and a lighter chassis. Porsche used polycarbonate side windows, a lighter titanium exhaust, and a carbon rear wing to keep weight to a minimum. A visual highlight is the centerlock wheels, which are directly derived from motorsport and contribute to weight saving and faster wheel changes on the track.

One of the most striking features of this RS is the use of a six-speed manual transmission, a rarity in modern sports cars. The combination of a mechanical differential and an improved PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) ensures maximum grip and precision on both the road and the track.
