Das Fahrzeug im Detail

The 997.1 GT3 was already a significant step up from the last of the 996 GT3s, combining nearly 10% more power with an almost unchanged kerb weight, creating an instant classic. The facelifted 997.2 took things further with centre-lock wheels, an extra 200cc of displacement and a substantial increase in downforce, all wrapped up in a subtly sharpened design in line with the rest of the range.

Supplied new to Porsche Slovenia in July 2009, this is a very early C11 Austrian-spec car. It’s finished in metallic black with titanium grey wheels and the all-important Clubsport package. The 997 is a particularly pretty generation of 911, and the GT3 unlike its more aggressive RS sibling offers a level of discretion and restraint.

From front to back, the exterior is in excellent condition. The paintwork retains a deep shine, that accentuates the styling and aerodynamic features like the rear wing and bumper vents. The wheels, which are wrapped in a suitably sticky set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres are free from any nasty curbing or damage.

The intent behind this car’s specification is clear. Halogen headlamps were chosen over xenon units to save weight, while safety features like the six-point harness and roll cage add back some mass. That’s balanced by the foldable Carrera GT-style bucket seats, keeping the car razor-sharp yet usable.

That combination, courtesy of the Clubsport package, has inspired a generation of enthusiasts seeking the best of both worlds: bucket seats and a roll cage, but also carpets, air conditioning and even sat-nav.

This car is equipped with the Sport Chrono Plus package, featuring a black-dial stopwatch, black roll cage, Porsche’s PCM3 radio system and cloth bucket seats. Despite their track-focused nature, the folding buckets are surprisingly comfortable and, more importantly, keep you firmly supported when you’re attacking the Flugplatz.

Despite originally being supplied to Slovenia, the car quickly made its way back to Germany where it remained until being imported into the UK in 2020. Throughout its life and despite its remarkably low mileage it has been maintained to an incredibly high standard either within the Porsche network or with specialists.

  • 09/2014 – Service – 8,338 miles – Porsche Centre Seigen (DE)

  • 11/2022 – Service – 14,944 miles – RPM Technik (GB)
  • 10/2024 – Service – 18,143 miles – RPM Technik (GB)

In late 2021, the car was unfortunately involved in a collision caused by a careless driver, resulting in damage to the off-side. It was swiftly taken to the experts at RPM Technik, where it was meticulously measured against factory specifications to identify any compromised components.

Following a thorough strip-down and inspection, the front subframe, off-side front suspension, wheel bearing, bumper, bonnet, and both front and rear wheels were replaced, along with various ancillary components such as the undertray. Only genuine Porsche parts were used throughout the repairs. Once the paintwork was completed, PPF film was applied to ensure long-lasting protection. The total cost of the work exceeded £34,000.

The final stage of the repair involved measuring and checking the car against factory specifications to ensure complete accuracy. Both the before and after measurements are documented in the car’s history file, providing full transparency. The car was not categorised and holds no insurance markers against it.

The car is now in factory-fresh condition and ready for a new owner. With 997 values on the rise, finding well-maintained, low-mileage examples in their original specification is becoming increasingly difficult.

The raw nature of the 997 demands a driver’s full attention, rewarding you with an unfiltered connection to the road. Its precise steering, naturally aspirated flat-six, and mechanical feedback create an experience that modern 911s simply can’t replicate. This GT3 offers the perfect balance of performance and usability.

As with all our vehicles, a full digital folder is available on request containing more images, walk-around videos, and scans of the service history. The car can also be viewed by appointment at our West London showroom.
