Built as the culmination of the 996 chassis, the 996 Turbo S featured the best of everything Porsche had to offer and was limited to 1,500 units worldwide. The “S” took an already potent 996 Turbo and added the larger K24 turbochargers, and revised ECU from the coveted X50 power package, giving 444 hp and 457 lbs./ft. of torque from the 3.6-liter flat-six. The increase in performance was paired with improved braking thanks to an early version of Porsche’s carbon ceramic brake technology, denoted by its yellow calipers.
This 2005 Porsche 996 Turbo S Cabriolet is finished in Carrara White over a Graphite Grey leather interior with a Graphite Grey convertible top, and showed just 14,884 miles at the time of cataloguing. Delivered new to Sunset Porsche in Portland, Oregon, this car was specified with GT3 wheels and a plethora of unique Exclusive options including a thicker steering wheel, sport shifter, and multiple exterior color-matched interior pieces. The car appears largely original; clear side-marker lights and painted bumperettes are the only modifications noted by the consignor and the original pieces for both are included with the sale.
This immaculate 996 has been serviced from new and, in January 2022, it received a comprehensive detailing with chassis dry ice cleaning. Included with the sale is the window sticker, original books and manuals, tools, the aforementioned original pieces, and service records dating back to 2008.
