Porsche 930 Flachbau for sale at ZWECK!

Zweck is pleased to offer a factory M505 slant nose 930 featuring a 3.6L engine, short-ratio 5 speed transmission, coilover conversion and much more. Throughout the 90s and 00s this 930 highly developed into the ultimate hot-rod 911 Turbo, with all work completed by period Porsche Motorsport institutions such as Andial and Dick Elverud. No expenses or considerations spared in making it an absolute performer; more comparable to a modified, watercooled 996 or 997 Turbo than its contemporaries.

Das Fahrzeug im Detail

This slant presents spectacularly and without flaws, with an odometer showing 21 thousand miles (consistent with Carfax and service records). Powerful yet progressive, the power delivery of this 930 is better than any other CIS 930 we’ve encountered. The car is well mannered around town but comes on boost quickly when on throttle, benefitting from the combination of increased displacement and upgraded cams. Combined with the close-geared G50, optimized for the powerband of the car, it makes for an incredibly enjoyable driving experience. The Bilstein coilover setup is surprisingly compliant, comfortable when cruising but highly capable compared to original shock/torsion bar setup. As fantastic as the car looks–it’s even better to drive.

In August of ‘87, the car was sold new by George Follmer Porsche-Audi. The original owner wasted no time in seeking proper upgrades. In 1988, the 930 was brought to Andial — now Porsche Motorsport North America — and modifications from including a K27 turbo, larger intercooler, upgraded Bilstein shocks and stiffer torsion bars were installed.

After changing hands to the second owner in the early 90s, the more intensive modifications began, listed in detail at the bottom. Dick Elverud played a vital role in developing the car into its current performing state, and had a close relationship with the second owner of the car, enlarging the engine from 3.3 to 3.6 during one of his rebuilds and converting the trans to 5spd. Mr. Elverud is a highly-regarded Porsche race mechanic who fielded Porsche cars since the 1960s, from 906s to RSRs and 935s. The slant was used on road and track until the mid-2000s and driven infrequently thereafter, thus Dick rebuilt the engine again in 2015 after the car had sat for some time, with new bearings and seals throughout.

The interior is immaculate with no noticeable flaws to speak of, including the sport seats which are in excellent condition. The AC blows cold as well. The paint on the car is excellent. The second owner deleted the sunroof and drip rails / rain gutters, possibly after incurring some roof damage, and resprayed the exterior at the same time. Overall, the vehicle presents in excellent condition throughout and comes with COA, books/manuals, and most records dating back to 1987. Please do not hesitate to contact for more information or photos. VIN withheld but available upon request. Inspections are welcome and encouraged.
