This is a very special 911 that we are offering for sale. The first generation car is indeed part of the 2-liter short chassis series (304XXX), but is one of the 253 1966 chassis set aside by the factory to create a curious model whose specificities were never specified by Porsche, named RS deluxe, in 1967. This one allows the basic model to benefit from engine and chassis evolutions, some of them taken from the S, but nobody really knows what Porsche’s intention was with this confidential series. Our model, in addition to being one of these 253 chassis, is equipped with Porsche factory sport kits. From 1967 onwards, Porsche offered to install sports kits on 911s, under the name SPP, for Sport Purpose Program. These consisted in optimizing the car for gentleman drivers by improving the chassis, the running gear and the engine. Our chassis is equipped with both kits and is one of the most sensational 0-series 911s to drive on the open road or in historic events.
Our example for sale benefits from an exceptional traceability of its life, with only 4 owners, a history provided, the Porsche certificate of authenticity, and the kardex in our possession. The car has a total mileage of 5997 kilometers not guaranteed. Delivered new in France by Sonauto, the car has only had four previous owners. After leaving the production lines on July 1st 1966, the French Porsche importer delivered the car to its original owner in Neuilly Sur Seine some time later. In 1982, the car left for the Isle of Beauty where it will remain until 2016. In 2016, the car was sent to Marseille for a complete mechanical restoration including the running gear, brakes and engine. In 2019, the car leaves French soil to join a large Porsche collection in Luxembourg, before returning to France with the current owner in 2021.
ENGINE AND GEARBOX
Thanks to these engine optimisations, the flat 6 develops more than 180 horsepower and weighs less than a ton. The engine is well-matched to the gearbox and develops this performance thanks to the two complete original kits. The body is equipped with a half roll bar, bucket seats, a 100l fuel tank, a front anti-roll bar, a limited slip differential… In terms of mechanics, we note optimized carburetors, a 3 tailpipes exhaust, camshafts and crankshaft from the 911S, and modified gearbox ratios typical of the Nürburgring, which makes it very pleasant to use. The mechanics and the running gear were completely overhauled by the Kinast garage in 2019 and the vehicle has covered 5000 kilometers since this overhaul. The older history is also available.
EXTERIOR
Cleverly equipped with reversible sports equipment, the 911 leaves no doubt about its vocation as a car for driving during the week and racing at the weekend, thanks to the racing rings, the double central exhaust outlet, its sheet metal rims or the additional headlights, but respects its original appearance. The decoration is easily removable and can be removed at the buyer’s discretion. The tangerine paintwork is in very good condition, despite some minor chips, and matches the lines perfectly. There is no major corrosion on the underbody, wheel arches or bodywork.
INTERIOR
The cabin instantly immerses its occupants in the atmosphere of a rally special stage with its equipment adapted to competition: bucket seats, harness, half-bucket, fire extinguisher, tripmaster, vintage Heuer chronometer… All the instrumentation is in working order, the floors are covered with a hard plastic coating. The front and rear seats are flawless, as are the dashboard and door panels.
CONSUMABLES
The installed Avon Radial tyres dating from the end of 2020, size 185/70 R15 89V, are close to new condition and do not require any changes, as does the fully serviced and well maintained braking system.
