The addition of a GT4-badged car within the Porsche 718 family went a long way to dispel enthusiasts’ fears that the new generation of Boxster and Cayman lacked bite. Impressive performance stats for base model’s 2.0-litre turbocharged engine might have belied its modest displacement, but some Porsche fans were found wanting more.
Based loosely on the premise of the 981-generation’s Boxster Spyder, the 718 Cayman GT4 gave drivers top-line Porsche power in an attractive coupé package. The provision of a 4.0-litre flat-six—rated at a mighty 414 horsepower—allowed the Cayman to achieve 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds.
The 718 Cayman GT4 offered here was completed by the factory on 7 December 2021 and delivered through a dealership in the Netherlands to its first owner in Germany, where it was registered on 28 July 2022. Finished in White over a Black leather interior, the Porsche benefitted from a generously specified options list headlined by the desirable Clubsport Package (003). This added a roll cage, carbon fibre-backed seats, and more, for a seamless transition from the road to the racetrack. The Cayman was also built with the Chrono Package, seven-speed dual-clutch “PDK” transmission, and six-point seatbelts (full list available to view in the history file).
The Porsche has covered just 4,460 kilometres from new and is offered with its factory toolkit, Porsche folio with manuals, and Schroth Racing harnesses—should its next owner wish to replace the conventional seatbelts for the ultimate track day experience.
