This particular car had the following options from new: Porsche Communications Management satellite navigation, telephone module, rear seats, top tint windscreen, Guards Red seat belts and gloss black exterior mirrors.
The car has full Official Porsche Centre service history from new and most recently had a Major Service at Porsche Leeds, showing 23,002 miles in May 2019.
The MOT does not expire until 15 June 2020.
Our thoughts
Even when it was new, the GTS was regarded by many as a truly special Porsche 911 – a typical product of the magic Porsche formula whereby a car is rather more than the sum of its parts.
With the benefit of hindsight, more and more Porsche fans are looking at the 997 model range as a high point of the water-cooled cars, before weight and width increased as cars perhaps become more GT in tone and less sporting.
As Richard Meaden put it in his review for EVO magazine in 2010: “As a package, the Carrera GTS is very hard to fault. That’s why for all-round performance, value and desirability it’s our favourite non-Motorsport department 911, and a fitting finale for the 997 generation.“
Today, the appeal remains the same as it did for EVO, with the car providing a compelling combination of driving thrills and everyday usability.
Sensibly priced, with lower than average mileage, this smart little car is ready to be saved up for high days and holidays, or (even better) driven hard on a daily basis.
