The Porsche 992 Dakar is a first-of-its-kind model in the history of the German brand, introduced in 2022 to celebrate Porsche’s Dakar Rally exploits, including its victory in 1984 with the 953, a modified version of the 911. By combining the DNA of the legendary 911 with off-road capabilities, the 992 Dakar is a tribute to rally-raid adventures while opening up new perspectives in the Porsche range. Positioned as an ultra-exclusive edition, it stands out from other 911 variants by its focus on off-road performance, a niche rarely explored by supercars.

The exclusivity of the Porsche 992 Dakar is based on its limited production of 2,500 units, each incorporating off-road-specific elements. It has a ground clearance increased by 50 mm compared to a classic 911, which can be raised by an additional 30 mm thanks to a hydraulic system. Its Pirelli Scorpion all-terrain tires are designed to offer optimal grip on varied terrain, while equipment such as reinforced body protection and roof bars reinforce its character. The interior is not left out with lightweight bucket seats and the absence of a rear bench to reduce weight.

Under the hood, the Porsche 992 Dakar has a 3.0L twin-turbo flat-six developing 480 hp and 570 Nm of torque, combined with an 8-speed PDK gearbox and all-wheel drive optimized for off-road use. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, with a top speed limited to 150 mph due to its all-terrain tires. Weighing 1,605 kg, it remains light for a model in this category thanks to the use of materials such as carbon. With an extended range and performance capable of tackling sand, gravel and snow, the 992 Dakar embodies a bold new approach to Porsche sportiness.
