Our 911 Backdating are all made on demand, so this is a great opportunity to acquire one of our completed projects, without having to wait the more than 12 months of long work. Our Backdating projects are based on the 911 Carrera 3.2, the 964 and the 993. For this project, its owner chose the 993 because it is the generation that offers better performance and more modern driving sensations. It is a vehicle that, although it inherits many features from the previous 911 classics, already offers more modern details. Elements such as power steering, air conditioning, ABS or a more modern rear suspension system are standard. But at the same time, it still retains that purity of lines and driving sensations, which make it a very attractive generation.
As a curious fact, comment that the Riviera Blue (3AG/S8) color is the original color of the car, which undoubtedly gives it greater attractiveness and exclusivity. This blue tone is more common in versions like the Carrera RS, but not so much in the normal Carrera. For the interior and always looking for the best color combination, a totally new black interior has been chosen. The seats are vintage Recaro type and come, like other parts of the interior, in braided leather.
Its bodywork, entirely in steel, is of the Turbo type, with its wider wheel arches. Only the bumpers are fiber. In this unit, the retractable rear wing has been maintained and a lower lip has been added in the front area. The door frames, windows, optics,… are in a chrome finish. The mirrors are Bullet type and are housed in the glass (the ones that appear in the photos are not the ones that the car has now).
The 6-cylinder boxer engine has been boosted using a Mahle Motorsport powertrain, which increases displacement from the stock 3.6-litres to 3.8-litres. It has also been installed, a sports exhaust system with Sport catalysts, an additional oil cooler at the front and finally, a reprogramming of the control unit. The result is a final power of approximately 300cv.
On a dynamic level, in the 993 generation, the multi-link rear suspension arrived, with which the 911 gained a lot in nobility, providing a lot of confidence and security to its driver, as well as effectiveness in sporty driving. Additionally comment that being a Carrera 2 with rear-wheel drive, it is a very agile and fun 911. And also its chassis is optimized thanks to the use of a Bilstein PSS 10 suspension (Adjustable height and hardness), a Sport stabilizer bar system and Michelin Pilot Sport tires with 7×17 and 9×17 Fuchs type wheels.
Once the vehicle is finished, it has been approved in Spain by an engineer and the improvements have been noted in the technical sheet.
