This Turbo Cup unit appeared only as a 1988 model and as a tribute to the One-Make race organized by Porsche, the “Turbo Cup”, which, as its name suggests, began with a 944 Turbo prepared as the base vehicle. In total some 1,513 units were made (1,635 according to other sources), and almost all of them came in the color Silver Rose (code LM3Z). In most countries, this version was known as Turbo S, but in Spain or France, they were called Turbo Cup.
At the engine level, this version introduced the 250cv engine, replacing the 220cv one. The power increase is achieved, among other things, thanks to the use of a larger Turbocharger of the K26-70 type. As special details and interesting extras of this version, apart from its exterior and interior color, highlight the Sport chassis (-9mm), the 40% self-locking differential, the reinforced gearbox, the 928 S4 brakes, the CS chrome rims 16”, its thinnest SeKuriflex windshield or its fantastic seats in burgundy cloth, a color that we also find in the dashboard, carpets and door panels.
