Completing the 911 convertible range, the Speedster, which arrived in 1989, resurrected a charismatic model from Porsche’s past, the name having previously been applied to the most stylish of the many versions of the type 356. The model was a huge success when it was presented at the 1987 Frankfurt Motor Show, and went into production at the end of 1988. The following year, just 2,065 units were produced. At Porsche, exclusivity has a name!
Last 911 model with the old bodywork before the arrival of the new type 964 the following year, its racy line surprises with its very inclined windshield and its double.
The double hump covering a summary hood but with a very Germanic quality. It is precisely in this perilous exercise that Porsche succeeds in convincing by proposing a car close to the prototype but very accomplished in the technique.
Mostly ordered with the „Turbo Look“ option (widened rear fenders and deeper bumper but without the spoiler of the closed version), the Speedster, thanks to its light weight, also offers slightly higher performances with its 231 engine coupled to the G50 gearbox.
Sold new in Germany (code C00), our collector bought this 911 Speedster Turbo Look in 2012 from a professional in Monaco with 54 615 km on the odometer. Since then, more than 25,000 km of roads have been swallowed during drives without any mechanical damage. Its maintenance was regularly done at the Centre Porsche Orléans and since 2016 at Auto Classic Club in Magny-Cours, having a solid reputation among the brand’s enthusiasts. Superb in its Indian Red livery, its interior is in very nice original condition, the leather of the seats is barely creased and the dashboard is flawless. The same goes for the carpets and the soft top. This very nice example is sold with its duplicate keys, user manual and a duplicate booklet issued at Porsche in November 2013.
The collection of Mr. and Mrs. B
Mr. and Mrs. B. have always been interested in cars. At the wheel of powerful cars or convertibles from the 60’s, they have shared their common passion on the roads of France and Navarre with the same appetite and the same thrill that a vintage car brings.
After we sold their Fiat Dino Spider 2.4 in December 2020, we have the pleasure today to present two cars that everything opposes but that match the sounds of their atmospheric mechanics.
Exclusive, powerful, beautiful and easy to use, we thank them for their renewed confidence, and present you two of their protégés.
