“Once again, Porsche has squeezed more power and torque from the 3.6‑liter aluminum-alloy six—from 270 hp to 282 and from 243 pound-feet to 250. Our six-speed 911 4S ran 0 to 60 in 4.9 seconds—identical to the all-wheel-drive 911 we tested in December 1994—and turned the quarter-mile in 13.5, a tenth of a second quicker than the previous car. Top speed was 161 mph (though its braggadocio speedo falsely registered 175 mph). Porsche says the added power can be sensed in midrange. Correct. Wind it out in second gear and you’ll see 68 mph at redline, and a few blinks later, 100 in third. (By the way, just starting this engine sent a tough, dozing neighborhood cat we know loping off at a distressed trot, belly close to the ground, ears pressed back. It has that effect on guys in rap-vibrating late-model Camaros, too.) The 4S’s skidpad performance of 0.87 g was 0.03 g lower than our last Carrera 4, and the 4S plowed more because the fat rear tires prevented our achieving the neutral attitude of the base Carrera 4.”
Offered here in (L908) Grand Prix White over (code PJ) Marble grey/black leather interior (black dash, door tops, headliner, grey carpet) is an all-wheel-drive 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S. Originally delivered to Champion Porsche of Pompano Beach, Florida, the car was specially ordered (this would later come to be known as “Porsche Exclusive“) with the two-tone leather upholstery. The current odometer reading is 73,284 miles, or fewer than 3,000 miles per-year on average since new. (Note: The Carfax history lists a “potential odometer rollback” arising from two readings taken in 1998-99. However the mileage-build before and after the two readings, up to the current reading, appears logical and accurate.) A well-kept Florida car that was a National Parade Class winner at the 2008 Parade Charlotte event, the C4S currently wears a GT2-style spoiler and TechArt® color-matched wheels; its original rear spoiler and stock 4S Turbo-look wheels are included in the sale. The Porsche has had the same owner for the past 13 years.

The exterior paint finish is excellent. Grand Prix White is a longtime classic Porsche color often chosen by purists. Here, the gloss is high and the surface smooth-as-glass. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, please be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) All body panels—including the C4S-specific front and rear lower fascia—are free of dings, dents, or other damage. Even door handles, often the victims of minor scratches, are extremely well-kept. (The removed original rear spoiler and wheels are in similar excellent condition.) Lightly tinted cabin glass and all lighting lenses are clear and free of cracks. Badging, including the silver Porsche hood crest and rear model designations (on the two different spoilers), is crisp and unfaded. The color-matched TechArt-branded 17-inch wheels are mounted with Michelin® Pilot MXA14 225/50 front and 255/45 rear tires. The wheel openings allow unobstructed views of the Porsche-branded red brake calipers and drilled brake rotors.
The Marble Grey-themed interior makes a stunning design statement and a perfect complement to the Grand Prix White exterior. The special-ordered “black-and-white look” leather upholstery on the front buckets and two rear jump seats is unique. All surfaces appear original to the car and correspond to the PJ-coded specifications. Light-grey cabin carpeting–with matching inserts on the lower door trim—and black 911-branded carpet mats complete a very custom (and very rare) look. The car’s black headliner shows no wear. The stock, 3-spoke, Porsche-crest, black steering wheel frames the full array of white-faced analog gauges. An upgraded Alpine audio head unit is mounted in the factory-radio location (added audio components are mounted in the carpeted “frunk.”) Graphic markings on switchgear and instruments remain crisp; the dashboard is free of fading or cracking. The shift lever for the 6-speed manual transmission is mounted on the console forward of the handbrake and armrest-with-storage. (Please view the close-up photography in the gallery to assess the outstanding condition of the Porsche’s various interior surfaces.)
Under the rear engine cover, the 3.6-liter, flat-6 engine occupies a clean and fully original-appearing engine bay. There are no indications of any performance modifications having been added. Viewed from below, the chassis and lower surfaces show no damage; the clean lower-engine surface and unscarred original protective panels are especially noteworthy. (To best evaluate the condition of undercarriage surfaces, please review the gallery photos shot from below.)
The car’s factory-mounted identification and information tags remain in place. The owner’s manual, warranty booklet, and other literature are included in the sale.

The satisfactions that arise from 993-series Porsche 911 ownership are many and varied. Whether it’s the legendary performance on the road, the „last of the air-cooled 911s“ distinction, the car’s beautiful design even when standing still, the sense that a well-equipped example is virtually a one-of-a-kind car, the heritage of the Stuttgart manufacturer, or the joy of knowing the owner is a steward for a car that may well live on for decades to come, owning such a car delivers above and beyond what virtually any other brand offers.
